German Language Courses for everybody

In Goslar, we offer German language courses generally three times a week.
Courses are open to all people interested in learning another language. You may find the course dates on our websites when you visit us at "Kursus-Suche" (Click on the topic "Deutsch als Fremdsprache in Goslar") or go directly to Deutsch als Fremdsprache.

 

German Language Courses for people who want to study at a German University

Our school offers German language courses over a relatively short period of time for those interested in learning and/or improving their German skills. Courses for beginners with no previous knowledge of the German language always start in January and July. However, if the future participant has previous German language experience, he/she may join one of the more advanced courses (see the course list below), providing space is available.

Usually on the Friday before the commencement of each course, there will be a german grammar and knowledge test (starting with Niveaustufe A1.2). You must pass this test in order to join the course or continue with your learning. The final decision however will be made by the head teacher according to the test results and the general comprehension of grammatical structures.

Please take notice of the following regulations: Mobile phones and recording devices are not allowed during classes except the teachers explicitely allow it. During examinations the teachers are authorized to collect all devices and store them safely till the end of class.

All courses start on a Monday and end on a Friday. The duration of the courses:

Niveaustufe A1.1 120 periods á 45 minutes / 225 Euro
Niveaustufe A1.2 120 periods á 45 minutes / 225 Euro

DSH prepration for examen (an additional offer for those who haven't participated in the above classes 30 periods á 45 minutes / 90 Euro


Lessons are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 p.m. (Courses may also be offered in the afternoon from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. depending on the amount of applications)

  • Relatives of university staff pay a price that will be extra calculated by the vhs Goslar.
(No price reductions will be made. Please see the detailed application conditions)

The complete program consists of 7 courses, starting with Niveaustufe A1.1 and ending with Niveaustufe C1. Each course may be booked and paid for seperately.

After finishing Niveaustufe C1, students may apply to take the DSH-test. (Registration as a student at the Technical University of Clausthal is thereby manditory.)

Application conditions for Niveaustufe A1.1

Applications must be submitted in person.
Each Thursday before the beginning of the course
from 04:30 - 06:00 p.m.
in room 106
at the Kvhs in the building ICZ, Graupenstr. 11, Clausthal-Zellerfeld.
Please bring all forms and papers with you.

We need:
  1. a complete application form (Anmeldeformular) that can be obtained at the Kvhs Goslar. Please be exact when choosing your courses (including course title AND number).
    Send the form to the appropriate office:
    • Applicants, planning to start their general studies at the Technical University of Clausthal, should directly contact the Technical University Clausthal, IZC, Studienberatung Ausländerzulassung, Graupenstr. 11, 38678 Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Deutschland. They will send you the application form.

  2. a copy of the document qualifying you to study at the TU Clausthal or another German university (vorläufiger Zulassungsbescheid)



We strongly prefer, not to receive advance payment for the courses.

If you still decide to transfer money to our account, please send us an e-mail (Doris.Kleemann@landkreis-goslar.de) simultanously. Otherwise the money will be returned to you.
In this e-mail please use the word "DaF-Vorauszahlung" in the subject line.

Application conditions starting from Niveaustufe A1.2

To participate in one of our language courses commencing after Niveaustufe A1.1, the students must pass a grammar and knowledge test. The test will be held
Date: on the Friday before the start of each new course (go to Dates of knowledge-tests)
Time: 8:00 a. m.
Place: the main building of the Technical University (Room: Audimax), Adolph-Roemer Str. 2 a
Responsible teacher: N. N.

Participation in the test is mandatory (even when the student has already attended one of the preceding German language courses).
If you do not pass or are absent from the test (for whatever reason), you will NOT be allowed into the course.

To write the test, you must provide us with:
  1. a completed application form (Anmeldeformular). Please be exact when choosing your courses (including course title AND course number: see further down).
    Send the form to the appropriate office:
    • Applicants, planning to start their general studies at the Technical University in Clausthal, need to print out the form an send it directly to the Technical University Clausthal, IZC, Studienberatung Ausländerzulassung, Graupenstr. 11, 38678 Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Deutschland.

    • Applicants, wishing to continue their studies at another university in Germany, send the form to Kreisvolkshochschule, Berliner Str. 8, 38678 Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Deutschland.

    (You may also fill in this form after having passed the test during the course .)

  2. a copy of the paper that qualifies you to study at a German university (vorläufiger Zulassungsbescheid)

With these papers you will be allowed to the test.
Please bring the "Zulassungsbescheid" with you to the test.





Exclusion from German courses because fees were not paid

You can only participate in an advanced course if all fees of past courses are completely paid!
We explicitely state that we have the right to exclude students from further participation if they haven't paid two preceding courses at our school.
